Built on the western slope of Scottsdale's majestic McDowell Mountains, the stunning Sanctuary Golf Course was designed by acclaimed course architect Randy Heckenkemper to offer a stimulating round of golf, while at the same time preserving the area's environmental integrity. Formerly a storm water retention area, the course, as its name suggests, provides sanctuary to native Sonoran desert plants and wildlife such as desert quail, roadrunners and jackrabbits. It is the first golf course in Arizona and the 17th in the world to attain the prestigious Audubon Signature Status. The rolling terrain of the 6,624-yard par-71 championship course offers challenge and entertainment for golfers of all skill levels, with five sets of tees at each hole. The spectacular par-3 8th hole showcases a large water feature with two multi-tiered waterfalls. After an invigorating round of golf, the stone and stucco clubhouse provides an inviting retreat with an exceptional restaurant offering flavorful menus and spectacular views, whether indoors or outside on the patio.
